Our Story

Creative Visions was inspired by the life of Dan Eldon, a 22-year-old Reuters photojournalist who was killed in 1993 while covering the conflict in Somalia.Ā After his death, his mother and sister, Kathy and Amy Eldon, founded Creative Visions, which leverages the power of art, advocacy, and creative action to effect social change and supports the voices of young creative changemakers like Dan.Ā Ā

Today, Creative Visions empowers artists, filmmakers, musicians and other impact media makers to raise awareness of critical issues and drive positive change through storytelling. A nonprofit organization and United Nations NGO, Creative Visions’ education programs help youth and educators understand how to use the arts to take creative action.Ā Ā

In 2024, Creative Visions became home toĀ Students Rebuild, an innovative youth program launchedĀ by the Bezos Family Foundation in response to the devastating 2010 Haiti earthquake. More than 1.4 million youth in all 50 states and 102 countries have been mobilized through the program – and over $13.5 million raised to support global causes.Ā
