We love hearing from our Students Rebuild Challenge Teams! Our teams aren’t all in traditional classrooms—today we hear from a homeschool and Brownie Troop that joined forces to participate in the Students Rebuild Literacy Challenge. Photo courtesy of Jessica Nelson, MOSAIC For Homeschoolers.

“Our Homeschool co-op saw the information for the Literacy Challenge online through the Gifted Homeschoolers Facebook page. It was the perfect service project for our group as our unit of study this semester was ‘Learning Through Literature.’

Our students jumped at the opportunity to help improve youth reading and writing skills around the world. Because we are a small group, we also solicited help making bookmarks from other homeschoolers, friends and family. Many accepted the challenge including Brownie Troop 30778 from Buffalo, NY!

Thank you for organizing this challenge! We were very happy to participate! We are mailing 100 bookmarks on Monday!"

The Students Rebuild Literacy Challenge, in partnership with Save the Children and Global Nomads Group, will help thousands of children in disadvantaged communities become successful life-long readers and learners. The Bezos Family Foundation, through Students Rebuild, will match each bookmark you make and mail in with $1—up to $300,000—for Save the Children’s Literacy Boost program in Mali, Nepal and Peru. The more bookmarks you send, the more children we’ll reach!
